Twisted berries seeds

Our nursery specializes in low maintenance fruit and nut trees, berry bushes, and useful perennials. We primarily sell bare root stock, but also have potted plants that are available locally. We sell seed, cuttings, roots, as well as trees and plants.

We believe that tree crops benefit the world in very powerful ways. We are establishing small scale commercial plantings of chestnut, hazelnut, and other low maintenance tree crops . Let us know if you, too, are interested in expanding tree crop genetics, we love to trade seed and plant material.

Twisted Tree Farm is a 20 acre homestead and nursery tucked back in the hills of Spencer, NY. We are dedicated to growing healthy trees, food, and family.

All of our plants are raised naturally without synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides. This is surprisingly rare in the nursery business, so we are proud to raise our well-rooted young trees in a living soil using compost, wood chips, and low tech common sense.

At the top of this page you will find headings for ordering trees, plants, seeds, and cuttings.

Description: Lush leafy branches hide dangling bell shaped flowers that turn into bright red berries in the fall. Burnt yellow foliage in the fall attracts attention and is great contrast for reds and pinks. This plant likes moist to wet sites and shade making it a great choice for north facing gardens. Twisted stalk is a traditional food source with the stalks and berries being edible in small quantities. It can be easily confused with a toxic member of the lily family so it should only be consumed if completely sure it is the right plant and then only in small amounts.

Found in Nature: Shaded, moist hollows, creek edges and wet slopes.
