The bright blue flowers have a deep-red interiour. They appear as royal velvet. The corrugated edge give the flower an elegant and stately appearance. As climbing, they shoot up walls or posts up to 3 metres. Blooming occurs from July into autumn.
Sow in March into small pots. Transplant out into the field in late April. Alternatively, direct seed in April. Climbing requires an aide such as a lattice, a trellis, or cords along the wall.
